Ten mesmerising buildings in Paris

Paris architecture. The  Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Louvre and Notre Dame Cathedral are listed in all the Paris guidebooks as major architectural highlights of Paris and of course are incredible structures to admire. But with over 2000 years of buildings in the French capital, there are many, many more places to admire.

Read on for 10 for my favourites. But first, can you guess them? And if you’re a Paris fan, what are yours?

In this article in The Big Bus Tour and Travel Guide on Paris architecture, I take you through a splash of history and some interesting architectural details of the buildings that I find particularly mesmerising. From the massive neoclassical glory of the Pantheon to the quirky inside-out modernist masterpiece- Pompidou Centre; from the highly decorative Beaux-Arts Palais Garnier opera house to the slick, contemporary Arab World Institute.

Enjoy the read and if you’re a Paris lover you’ll find a bunch of other stories by me on the Big Bus sit by searching my name or Paris. For architecture fans, my book The Architecture Lover’s Guide to Paris is now available worldwide. I literally walked all over Paris (during the metro strikes!) researching and photographing hundreds of buildings for this book and curating architectural walking tours. It was a fascinating job and I hope you also get a lot out of it. Grab a copy from your favourite bookseller or order a signed copy, or buy online from the publisher here.

Read the story in The Big Bus- 10 must see Paris Buildings and Monuments.
