Ruby TV 2013 wrap

After a splash of cabaret in the early months of 2013 in Australia, Ruby was back reporting in Europe with written stories for Rendez Vous en France (the international French tourism magazine), Qantas, Melbourne Weekly and as part of the team of the new Australian digital arts mag Issimo.

Three visits  to Cannes included MIPTV and MIPCOM (with an interview with Australian actress Abbie Cornish) and meeting some of the heavyweights behind the screens and of course the film festival where Baz Lurhmann’s The Great Gatsby opened.

A somewhat eventful and very hot trip to North Africa followed, then the annual trip to Barcelona to work on a film script with Algerian scenarist Ahamed Rezzak and dance it out at Tap On Barcelona and the Jimmy Slyde Institute.

August was jam packed with jazz in Paris and interviews with artists including LA based Australian writer Luke Davies and Paris based Perth raised actor James Gerard (out soon in Issimo) and in autumn we filmed the pilot for a Paris documentary series directed by Elise Mc Leod (currently in post production).  St Tropez for the festival of Antipodean cinema.  Then another trip to Algeria to meet some artists, attend a film festival, jam with the locals in Guelma (Bled Fusion) and find a new producer in Algiers for an upcoming travel series (more on that soon).

Back to Paris for some more tap dance and a Paris Tap Crew clip with Olivia Rutherford.

And that’s it for now. Merry Christmas and we’ll see you next year for more advenutues.
