Ruby TV produces cross platform arts, travel and lifestyle content with a particular emphasis on European festivals and behind the scenes artistic profiles.
With a pool of hot directors, editors, cameramen and co-producers and an endless stream of program ideas and talent, Ruby TV produces for a variety of clients including Screen Australia, SBS and Paris Voice.
RUBY
Producer and presenter of Ruby TV is Ruby Boukabou, who also freelances as a journalist for Australian and international press. Ruby has filed for SBS (Cannes and Venice film festivals), ABC (Sunday Arts), Qantas Magazine and The Diplomat as well as Inside Film, Screenhub.com, The Geneva Times, Vive La France, London Tribe and The Australian (Travel). Ruby has worked both in front and behind the camera and, as well as holding a degree in English and French literature, an Honours in Performance Studies and a Masters in Theatre, has been trained in Presenting (On Camera Connections, Sydney and Presenters’ Inc, London), Acting (Sandra Lee Patterson), Editing & Filming (University of Geneva).
Ruby’s high profile interviews include Sofia Coppola, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Dirty Martini, Kitten on the Keys, Stephen Dorff, and (in French) Audrey Tautou, Jaques Maillot and Juliette Dragon. Ruby herself has been interviewed on Canal Plus, Ciné Cinema and France 3.
Ruby’s alter ego is a tap dancing cabaret artist and appearances include at the Glastonbury Festival, the Hilton in Mumbai, The Whoopee Club in London, The Famous Spiegletent in Edinburgh and Australia, The Chat Noir in Switzerland and at The Paris Burlesque Festival. Her performance work gives her a unique insight into her subjects, not only as she has gotten to known many of them between feathers and drum kits backstage in various venues across the globe, but she has an empathy and understanding of the artistic process. Ruby is the window into the intriguing worlds of performance and artistic adventures.

Ruby TV Australian Creatives is an ongoing project that profiles *Australian creatives abroad. The episodes fuse arts and travel programs, providing insights into the passions and challenges of Australians forging creative careers around the globe. Ruby and the team take their audiences backstage, on set and inside the concerts, homes and lives of musicians, performers, stylists and chefs both well known and delightfully hidden. The profiles are designed to inform and inspire both Australian and international audiences and have included interviews with The Cat Empire, Mick Hart, Jimi Sofo, Simon T Rann (Paris) and Peta Gammie (Geneva).
