5 Ways of Keeping Fit and Losing Weight Every Day

Being the first winter I’ve done in about 10 years (no joke, winter is usually avoidable by with a simple plane ticket to the other hemisphere), I’ve put on some kilos. I hate it. Two weeks ago I decided enough was enough and took matters seriously.

Who cares about actual weight, it’s about feeling good in one’s own skin.

As of this morning I’ve dropped half of it (horray I can fit into my favourite jeans again, even if they’re tight). I’m giving myself another two weeks to be back to my 100 percent comfortable self. Here are some tips from my journey:

Take the Stairs/ Walk the Escalator

It doesn’t take that much more effort and your legs will enjoy the workout- take those stairs and walk the escalator!

Pack museli bars and fruit for snacks and avoid bread

Instead of buying croissants, chips, sandwiches or chocolate bars, pack fruit and museli bars to snack on. Museli bars can give you a real pick-me-up between meals (they also used to save me from passing out in the excitement of it all when forgetting to eat at Cannes Film Festival, strategically placed in pockets thanks to my considerate copain). And they don’t take much space.

Drink Water

Simple but so good for your health. Also fills you up sometimes when you think you’re hungry.

Do the Elle McPherson Workout Video!

It’s an oldy but a goody. For getting back into shape and dropping kilos quickly, this is my favourite.

Stretch or tap dance at bus stops/ train platforms

You don’t need to throw your leg behind your ear or anything… but 5 minutes can be used to improve your flexibility of ankles, calves etc. Make the most of it. You can obviously also tap dance at train stations too, albeit quietly to yourself 🙂
